Royal Mist Homestay Munnar

10km from Munnar town, down winding hilltop roads with spectacular views, Royal Mist Homestay is owned by Mr. Anil and his family. This particularly close knit family with two children aged 5 and 11 are incredibly hospitable, welcoming guests as part of the family, whilst allowing them as much independence as they desire. The separate area of the guests’ rooms occupies the top floor of this modern house with an upstairs terrace which looks out onto the valley and hills extending into the distance. The guests are welcome to use the family’s comfortable sitting room and Indian meals are offered either on the terrace upstairs (a particularly nice place for breakfast), or in the family dining room, giving the opportunity for chats with Mr. Anil and his wife who speak excellent English. The personalized service of a Homestay is constantly apparent; they are happy to give out recipes for any meals guests have particularly enjoyed and the couple enjoys a chat over a cup of coffee. The family has a spice garden around the corner which has wild mango and orange trees, along with vanilla and pepper plants and many more. The surrounding area is a network of short walks through plantation and wooded areas, opening out onto astonishing viewpoints and Mr. Anil is keen to take guests or point them the way. Other activities such as trekking, plantation tours and sightseeing can also be arranged. A quiet and idyllic family life is enjoyed at Royal Mist Homestay, a perfect setting for guests coming to explore the beautiful landscape and refreshing climate of Munnar.
